Orchard Creek Covid Guidelines
To our Golf Leagues,
These are trying times. As we are faced with the adversity of a pandemic, Orchard Creek Golf Club has been working very closely with New York State on how to proceed in the safest manner possible without jeopardizing the minimum stability of our business. In light of our current situation, one of the most adversely affected subsections of our customer base has undoubtedly been our league members; many of whom have been enjoying our golf course since our opening more than 20 years ago.
Therefore, with the State’s blessing and the hard work of our ownership, we have been able to compile a list of ground rules and guidelines that we hope can enable us to move forward without recklessly endangering the health of the population.
- All golf leagues are being invited to begin play effective May 4th, 2020. While this start date would be considered reasonable by many groups, that is not true in all cases. As a result, your league’s start date will be completely at your discretion and you will not be charged for weeks that you do not play. Also, under these circumstances, golf leagues will be extended beyond Labor Day in an effort to accommodate completing all pre-paid weeks of play.
- In these times, the avoidance of congregating in groups is at a premium. Therefore, we ask that all leagues choosing to begin play are aptly prepared by scheduling pre-designated foursomes at pre-designated tee times within their time block. This will help us to avoid the large groups of players that accumulate on the first tee as the league is attempting to delegate their groups in the moment. Food and drinks will be available at the south side of the club house, at the take out window. We ask if you purchase drinks that you remain in the patio area and not in the parking lot. We have already had calls from people driving by on Dunnsville Road complaining we are not promoting social distancing. So please inform your league members to refrain from this practice so the Governor does not close us down.
- Carts will be distributed for league play and will be limited to one rider per cart. The cost of the cart will be $12 per person. Please keep in mind that the use of a cart is contingent on availability. With only a 64 carts and only one rider allowed per cart, this presents the possibility of a shortage that cannot be foreseen or dictated. Our staff will certainly be working at their fullest potential to ensure that all who want a cart will be able to take a cart, but no promises can be made. We will not be allowing carts in the parking lot area.
- Anyone who plans on taking a cart during leagues needs to call the golf shop and add a credit card to their customer profile. We will then charge your card if you take a cart during league play. You will not be able to take a cart for league play unless you have a credit card on file. IF, AT ANY TIME, 2 RIDERS ARE FOUND ON A GOLF CART, BOTH RIDERS WILL BE TOLD TO LEAVE THE PREMISES AND WILL NOT BE GIVEN A REFUND.
Following all of these guidelines is incredibly important in our mission to remain open and continue to serve all of the golfers within the capital region and beyond. Your cooperation does not go unnoticed and is certainly appreciated.
Stay safe and we look forward to seeing you soon.
